On June 15, 1973 “The Legend of Hell House” was released in the United States! Directed by John Hough (Escape to Witch Mountain). and starring Pamela Franklin, Roddy McDowall, Clive Revill, Roland Culver, Peter Bowles, Michael Gough, and Gayle Hunnicutt. The plot follows a group of researchers who spend a week in the former home of a sadist and murderer, where previous paranormal investigators were inexplicably killed. The screenplay was written by author Richard Matheson, which was based upon his own 1971 novel Hell House. The score and electronic sound effects were created by Delia Derbyshire and Brian Hodgson.
